I had been home raising my 3 kids and had loved being with them. Thanks to my spouse, who had been working hard so that I could. I will forever be grateful for having had such a privilege. 

During those years I hadn't contributed to the household income, and I was starting to feel a little stressed about not reaching our long term financial goals. I wanted to contribute to the family income so we could retire early with enough savings to live comfortably. Who wants to retire and have lots of time, but no money to do all the fun stuff. I didn't want to find myself in the worst case scenario, stressing about lack of $$$. We wanted to retire while we were still healthy and fit to enjoy all the activities we love. I dreamed of hiking beautiful trails such as Mont Blanc, scuba diving in exotic places, kayaking, snowshoeing, traveling, spending lots of time with family and friends, etc. 

Here was my plan, it seemed like a pretty good one at the time. I used some of my savings and bought a franchise, a women's gym. I had always dreamed of being my own boss! I liked the idea of having no income limit and having more flexibility with my schedule. I would combine two of my greatest passions: coaching and fitness. I was ready to work hard for 5 to 10 years and put away some great retirement money...to retire early remember! 

 I discovered a third passion, nutrition. I followed courses and read a lot on the subject, for my own education and to better serve my clients. Nutrition is such a key element for good health. I applied this new found knowledge and noticed quite a change. I lost some weight, had lots of energy, improved my fitness level and I even ran my first marathon. I was happy and eager to help my clients reach their own goals.

Although I enjoyed what I was doing, there was one problem with this venture. My financial plan wasn't working. It became pretty clear that I wasn't going to be able to retire early if things didn't change. In fact I hadn't moved forward at all. My retirement savings wasn't growing. OUCH! I needed to find another way. I was looking for a new opportunity...That's when Lucie, a new client of mine, introduced me to my Network Marketing Business. A new seed had been planted, one of hope and promise!

In the last years in my traditional business I was working around 60 hours per week. I was spending very little time with my family and obviously feeling guilty about the situation. I was seeing my friends on very rare occasions and hadn't taken a real vacation in 5 years...so much for freedom and flexibility.

I learned about the business plan and the products. What I loved about the products is that they were Breakthrough products backed up by science. They were designed to enhance our body's ability to produce more GLUTATHIONE. We need high levels of Glutathione in our cells to reach optimal health. It's our best defence against aging, cellular damage and disease. You'll learn more about its importance on this blog. I started sharing the products with my clients and saw some great results. Here are a few:  better sleep, more energy, less joint discomfort, better recovery after workouts etc. Many medical conditions are related to low levels of Glutathione and chronic inflammation. I loved helping them achieve a healthier self. It felt really good to make a difference. It gave me a great sense of purpose and fulfilment. Don't we all like to take part of someone else’s success? 

I knew then that building a Network Marketing Business in a Health and Wellness Industry was going to allow me to keep doing what I was passionate about: coaching about Health and Wellness...BEING A MESSENGER OF HOPE to people all around the world... without the pains of a traditional business: high capital, rent, insurance, payroll, turnover of employees, etc. It would also allow me to generate the income I had always wanted.

Our company was opening The Ivory Coast market. Lucie was really excited and invited me to come along with her to start building our Teams there. I had mixed emotions about the whole idea, excited of course, but also fearful of the unknown. Just thinking about it, I was way out of my comfort zone! The excitement won over the fear and off we went to Ivory Coast for two and a half months. 

It was an accelerated course in Network Marketing. Wow, what an experience. I met some really amazing people and realized how life is hard and full of challenges over there. I will always remember Clementine. One day while we were chatting, she asked if our products could help her husband. He'd had a stroke a few years back and he was left partly paralyzed on his left side. He'd also lost his job and his dignity. I couldn't promise anything, but I was curious to find out...and truly hoped it would. 

It turns out he had a great product experience. By the time we left Africa, he could lift his left arm and leg on his own, something he hadn't been able to do since his stroke. He started sweating again and sleeping at night, something else he hadn't been able to do. He was able to walk normally and he had more energy. He cried and said he had gotten his dignity back. 

He joined our team and we helped him get his business started. I can't explain how exciting and rewarding it is to have such a positive impact in someone's life. It's an amazing feeling ...I still have goose bumps when I think about it.
